What was your first Coach bag? My mother had Coach bags for a few years so I was certainly familiar with the brand. I’d still love to steal her now vintage saddle and messenger bags some day! But when I first started buying Coach bags for myself, I gravitated towards the younger, brighter bags. Eventually, I also added other bags from Burberry to Chanel and didn’t buy as many Coach purses. But I really liked how Coach has forged interesting collaborations from its Disney collection to the Coach x Rodarte collection now.
Rodarte is an interesting partner because it isn’t mass market, but known for its “high couture, modern femininity, and modern influences”. In other words, it’s luxurious and cool in a funky way. They have worked with everyone Frank Gehry to the LA Philharmonic. In addition, they were the first designers to be awarded the National Arts Awards. The Coach x Rodarte collection is certainly filled with high fashion influences with laser cut touches, leather sequins, set against only black, cream, or blush leathers. Many of the wristlets are unsurprisingly sold out online and those are certainly the most wearable, affordable pieces in the collection.

I love coach bags! I’ve always been fond of their crossbody bags. They also change it up each season. I love the designers they collaborate with 😀 Those eyelet ones are gorgeous.

I don’t own a Coach bag, but I do own a pair of Coach shoes. I like this collab, but I definitely see more Rodarte in this Coach x Rodarte collection. DOn’t you?
It’s so Rodarte which makes it so interesting and different for Coach! I have a pair of beloved Coach boots which haven’t been worn yet (left them in NYC!) They make really great shoes and I wore my flats to death!

Thsi is a really interesting collab. I never really got into Coach as a brand. Seeing people with them in Chinatown made it less appealing.
Yep, the copycat effect killed it for me with brands like LV and Kate Spade as well. That’s why I’m glad to see brands creating such unique collaborations that aren’t as common!
