Chic ‘n Cheap Living Contest: Le Creuset 6 Quart stockpot (US & Canada)

March 23, 2010

Isn’t it funny how our priorities and interests evolve as we get older?  We start thinking about types of wine glasses to have in our homes, sheets that should go in a guest room, baby gates that are best for baby shower gifts, and open ourselves up to a whole other world of shopping (hmm apologies if I’m just speaking for me here, just my shopping list in the last few weeks!)  It’s only a matter of time before I have to look for kids bedding (not for me yet my friends are definitely starting up their little families!)

Another aspect of evolved interests are well stocked kitchens.  I’ve got a soft spot for great kitchen equipment.  I totally vouch for quality cookware and tools because the cost of one great set will outlast a few sets of cheaper stuff.  One of my favorite brands is Le Creuset. I have bought and gifted quite a few pieces of Le Creuset (yes a few of my friends know to expect Le Creuset and a check for their weddings!).  They make fun, durable pieces in the happiest colors and there’s a lifetime guarantee for many of their enamel cast iron pieces!  I wax poetic about them all the time and this is an item that I believe is really worth the price.
Le Creuset, call me if you ever need a brand ambassador!

Since I ♡ you and Le Creuset so much, I’m offering you a 6 quart Le Creuset stockpot in your choice of colors!  I require a bowl of your lobster bisque if you win (kidding, but yum right?)

I personally love the sky blue colors of Caribbean

At home though I have a few pieces in Cherry

This is more of a lemon than a dijon to me, but still adorable!

I also have a pot in this royal Cobalt color – yes I shipped that baby to Singapore!

Isn’t this kiwi color like a pretty green delicious apple?  Yes I do actually have this in a 2 quart apple shape and yes it is freaking adorable.

Finally if you like to keep it neutral, there’s always sweet dune

It’s the first in my series of Bloggy Birthday giveaways lovelies!

I’ve partnered with some pretty awesome vendors to bring you some coolio gifts.  Each contest will last 2 weeks.

I made the HORRIBLE mistake of not registering for any of the GORGEOUS Le Creuset cookware. I’m an idiot.

Anyways, I’m stuck with plain jane stainless steel stuff, but manage to make delicious turkey chili somehow anyway. I hate leaving links in comments, but here’s the link to the recipe, which ROCKS:
    http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Terrific-Turkey-Chili/Detail.aspx

And for the record, I follow through Google Reader!

  • Aubrey March 23, 2010 at 17:46

My chili is my favorite entertaining recipe. It’s so easy for a casual gathering, and you can mix up the recipe to make the batch different every time.

I’m a blog and a twitter follower! (And about to be a facebook fan.)

My fave dish to cook: beef stew (with my own twist). This pot would be perfect for it! Praying, hoping, wishing… =)

  • PartyPlannerGal March 23, 2010 at 18:17

Oh my goodness, I am drooling over that Le Creuset awesomeness! I love the Cherry-colored pot – it’s so happy and fun!

Apparently blogger hates me because I tried to comment and it deleted everything. =[
Love love love Le Creuset! I think the Caribbean color or the Sweet Dune color have to be my favorites. Which I find sort of odd because normally I go for all things red in my kitchen. Hmm…
Oh! My favorite dish to make is a veggie stir that my husband LOVES. It’s super simple- just frozen veggies, rice, and sauce and BAM! dinner is done. ;]
Oh, and just in case, I’m a follower.

  • Born to be Mrs. Beever March 23, 2010 at 19:58

OOOH…Pick me! Pick me!!! I love Le Creuset…I registered for their other big pot and am hoping to get it from a guest 🙂

I am of course a follower of yours over here and my fave dish (that would be perfect for this pot you are giving away) is chicken with 40 cloves of garlic! The sauce is to die for and yes, I actually count out and use 40 cloves of garlic! 😉

  • Recession Bride March 23, 2010 at 19:58

Beef stroganoff — it’s my favorite recipe to make because I can actually do it pretty well. I don’t cook often because my fiance is a chef, so, frankly, it’s intimidating. One night I had a terrible craving for beef stroganoff, but I couldn’t find the fabled family recipe that his whole side *raves* about…so, I made do with a good-sounding one I found on the Internet…

Well, hubby-to-be came home and LOVED it. I was all, “I’m sorry I couldn’t find the family recipe…” In between mouthfuls he’s, “Don’t worry. Seriously. Awesome. Make this from now on.”

    Follow you on Google/blogger!
