Ok so I read about the various at-home workouts by Steven Spiers and was pumped to try them. He has these 3 programs:
One and two are pretty freaking scary to me. I can however do 3 already (crunches). Ten thousand only is vowing to run every day for 30 days. THAT is awesome. I do salsa but am not jazzed about cardio.
How, oh wow, do brides get motivated to work out?!
As an ex-marathon runner, I’m going to say that running every day is not always the best thing for every BODY. Listen to your body. It needs time to heal itself as running can damage you knees, ankles and heels depending on your running surfaces and stride. New runners – PLEASE be smart and safe. A great resource for beginner runners is the Jeff Galloway run-walk program. I used it for my first marathon and had great success. You can use the method to get through 3 miles without getting frustrated or down on yourself. All you need is a watch that does split times (you can get one at Wal-Mart for $15). http://www.jeffgalloway.com
I’m kind of a work out freak and the reason why is because it feels good. It sucks at first, but like any new routine, it needs to become a routine. If you push through the first week or two, you’ll see results, sleep better and feel better.
Go
Louise, you are totally right – not everyone should push themselves for 1 specific program and find something that fits them. Thanks for the Jeff Galloway recommendation!
