Beauty Product Review/CnCLiving Recommends: Shu Uemera / Shiseido Eyelash curler (and 20% off at Sephora)

November 1, 2011
I’ll admit it.  I have pretty mediocre eyelashes.  They are an average length and average to less to average thickness (I’ll attribute that to genetics – thanks dad!)  But a few years ago, I discovered the Shu Uemera eyelash curler and the heavens (or my eyes) opened up.  I use my eyelash curler every, single day!
Am I going to the office? Curl lashes
Am I heading to the gym? Curl lashes
Am I doing some grocery shopping?  Yep, gonna curl my lashes.I find that a quick curl (which can be a bit funky to master because you may pinch your lid) really opens up your eyelashes and eyes.  Then an additional dab of mascara may really make your eyes pop.  It is truly a beauty product staple for me.

I picked the Shu Uemera eyelash curler when I first saw it in In Style Magazine (it is a consistent beauty winner brand).  But I also mention Shiseido pads because 1) Shu Uemera does not sell silicone pad refills so I use Shiseido ones which were slightly stiff at first but are great now and 2) Shiseido is listed on Sephora with decent reviews and on sale so it is worth a try.

My lashes are a bit long, I curl them sometimes, but usually just leave them. My daughter’s have longer lashes though..lucky them 🙂 But, I like the curlers as they are easy to use! x

Great product review! I have never used an eyelash curler . . . I have naturally curly hair, which I think must mean naturally curly lashes. I get frustrated with my hair, but I think I must have lucked out in the lash department 🙂

Such a great review. My eyelash curler that I´m currently using is vintage, from my mom-in-law. But in time when I have to change it, I´ll remember this product. 🙂

I have pretty long lashes, so I don’t usually bother to curl them. This sounds like a great tool, though!

oh love the first eye pic but I’ve never been able to get into using eye lash curlers.

I’m such a makeup junkie you’d think so though.

I used to have lashes that wouldn’t quit. Once I started aging though they got pretty brittle and there are less of them. Always though I have had to curl my lashes and until I found Shu and Shesido I was constantly replacing curlers. I’d say without my curler, my makeup job would definitely be incomplete.

I use on the Shu kind and I love it! I’ve been curling my eye lashes since I was ten. It’s an addiction!

That’s my number #1 to do before going out 🙂 Eyelashes are a must and some tinted lip gloss or lipstick (but if I wear lip stick Miguelito won’t let me kiss him on the cheek after school when I pick him up – hehe)

Hooray for the healthier streak and girl you will fit into those jeans in now time 🙂 Thank you for your always sweet words!

    xoxo

I don’t really use an eyelash curler unless it’s special special occasions haha… it’s just a lot of work in the morning when I already slept in!

That’s my favorite eyelash curler!! I’ve been using it for years.

  • Bonnie November 2, 2011 at 02:03

Lash curlers never work on mine because they are naturally super long and heavy. Lash curlers last for, like, five minutes until they fall down. It’s kind of hilarious to watch.

My lashes are short but I am too cheap to buy this baby! I think these She Uemara’s eyelash curler in the US are hard to come by… I use a cheapo one from revlon and lots of mascara, primer and then maybelline falsies which is amazing!
