There is something about the perfect, soft blue that makes me just plain happy.
I blame the fascination equally on robins eggs and Tiffany’s (there are very few ladies whose hearts don’t flutter a bit more at the site of the box right?) So I was obsessed with finding a perfect spring shade of blue. I had first heard about Chanel Coco Blue when it was released as part of the Les Jeans de Chanel collection of colors (yes nail polish colors that took their influence from the colors of denim!) I barely saw it in stores, but snatched up the Coco Blue color when I saw it at Changi Airport in Singapore (duty free shopping, you rock!)
The color didn’t disappoint in real life, but the formula did. The nail polish was inconsistently opaque after two coats and I feared doing a third coat in case I got those dreaded bubbles. I got a manicure over the weekend though and learned a new technique for applying manicures (just short strokes!) so I will see if that helps the spread of the formula as well as minimizes bubbles.
It is still a great color for the warmer months though I’ll still be searching and hoping other brands make something similar!
Recommend
– Overall I loved the color, but not the finish so no, I wouldn’t re-buy this
Pros
– Great blue shade!
Cons
– I wish the finish was more opaque
Price
– $26 (or $21 after the exchange rate for me)
Beautiful color!
I really like this color as a summer to fall transition shade (that and army green!)

I LOVE sky blue shades like this – so pretty. Sorry to hear about the formula though; a bad formula can totally ruin a great polish color! :/
It is sad! But that is also why I wanted to share this review!
I like fin colors, but usually steer away from blues on my skintone. It looks great on you, though! You know I love my Chanel polishes 🙂
i;ve gotta find a dupe for this…so pretty
Beautiful!

cute color
what a beautiful color on you! I really love the lighter shades of blue. Another blue shade I really love is For Audrey by China Glaze – it is almost dead on Tiffany Blue (but not quite because that color is trademarked). I wore it into a Tiffany store, and the sales women knew exactly what I was wearing!
Lovely post!
Thank you for the For Audrey recommendation!
ohh sorry that didn’t work with the opacity – i’ve been curious whether if you layered with a nude under whether that would make the blue more opaque? xox P

I’m not sure if the nude underneath would have helped. I’m not sure if it was my bottle or just a streaky formula, but this was disappointing.
Hooray for nails! The formula definitely looks streaky which is disappointing since it’s Chanel 🙁
this is a fun color! i saw beyonce rocking it shortly after giving birth to blue ivy…think it was a coincidence?? 🙂
Haha, Coco Blue and Blue Ivy – hmm coincidence indeed!
that is such a pretty shade, I could just see it as being a brides ‘something blue’
Great review and what a stunning colour! Haha, I do love me a good bit of duty free shopping, and the recently discovered Changi Airport is pretty awesome…
Gorgeous color! And very close to Tiffany blue 🙂
This is a beautiful shade! I have a bargain polish in a similar color, which I got for $4.
You always tempt me with your duty free finds! Enjoy a lovely weekend!
