Winter is unfortunately still in full force for many of you.
I feel you and remember mourning sunshine and warm weather, especially during my college years in a drearier, colder part of the US. Along with winter comes almost perpetually dry skin. I may not be experiencing frigid weather now, but I still look for natural and easy moisturizers to keep my own skin supple and full of moisture (see my shea and cocoa butter moisturizer here).

Here are the top 5 natural ingredients I like to use to moisturize my skin:
Almond oil
Almond oil is rich in zinc, which helps promote the renewal and healing of dry, cracked skin. The monounsaturated fats in almond oil also help maintain moisture. It is a great base ingredient for cleaning and moisturizing skin. I have purchased and liked Life-flo pure almond oil because it contains only almond oil and vitamin E.
Argan oil
This oil has been one of the most popular oils lately and for good reason. It penetrated dry skin and oil and supposedly reduces blemishes, fine lines, and dark circles. I haven’t used it long enough to vouch for all of these qualities, but have been very happy with the manner in which it moisturized my skin and hair (not too greasy if you only you a drop or two). I was lucky enough to win the Pura d’or argan oil from Erika. This little bottle packs a punch.
Cocoa butter
Cocoa butter is high in fatty acids which keeps skin nice and hydrated. It also provides an additional antioxidant kick so it a prime fighter against fine lines and signs of aging. I love the smell and ease of use (it comes in smaller chunks) of the Kakosi cocoa butter.
Coconut oil
I love coconut oil as both a nutritional and beauty product. It is possibly the most moisturizing oil out there because it readily gets absorbed by skin and hair. I consistently put just a drop or two of coconut oil on both my scalp and ends of my hair to both combat dry scalp and frizziness. I love the large jar of Vitacost coconut oil and use it every time we have oatmeal and for my home made moisturizers.
Jojoba oil
This is one of the most versatile natural oils and is an ingredient in many moisturizers and cosmetics you may already own! Jojoba Oil contains many nutritional elements like long-chain essential fatty acids and fatty alcohols – basically, it isn’t easily diluted in water and retains moisture. I’m currently using Life-flo Jojoba oil as an after shower moisturizer.
What are your favorite natural skin moisturizers?

This is a great list. I use coconut oil SO many different ways. It is a must have staple in my pantry!!!
I am so addicted to argan oil. I really need to get through my products. I have a surplus but it’s so good for your skin and hair!
