Confession: I’ve never loved a regular French manicure.
There was just something about the pale colors paired together that made it seem like I had very glossy, uncut nails. But I do love a touch of sparkle with my nails and a simple change in color makes me love French manicures. The sparkling French manicure is perfect for the holidays and I’m doing this nail for New Year’s Eve. It is easy to do at home and less in your face than having a manicure that is entirely composed of a glitter or foil polish. Sparkle on!
Here are the materials needed:
- base coat
- top coat
- 2 shades of nail polish (base coat and a glitter nail polish)
Here are the steps I used to create this manicure:
1. I painted my nails in the base coat and then two coats of one color (with sufficient drying time between each layer of course!)
2. I drew a small thin line on the tips of my nails with the glitter nail polish. Try to make 1 continuous line or at least drag the brush halfway across your nail. It is easier to draw a thin line and make it a little thicker if needed.
3. Allow sufficient drying time for the French tip and then put on top coat to set.
I’ve never loved “regular” french manicures either – the last time I did one I did glitter tips!
Very cute. I love that clutch you’re posing your nails on too!
