To some, hearts may seem too girlish or feminine.
I say, if you love it, rock it. Â Also what’s not to love about love?
Valentine’s Day is an excuse to eat chocolate, drink bubbly, and dress up in something pink/red/related to hearts. I first found a heart manicure on Pinterest (let me know if you’re there, I’m here) and thought “hmm I can make this a little edgier and more glamorous!” Â Rose gold via Chanel Delight provides a perfect sparkling base while the heart on top consisted of a rich red courtesy of Chanel Fire .
Why not create your own romantic (and easy!) heart manicure?
Here are the materials needed:
- base coat
- top coat
- 2 shades of nail polish (pink or rose goldbase coat and a red nail polish)
Here are the steps I used to create this manicure:
1. I painted my nails in the base coat and then two coats of the base color (with sufficient drying time between each layer of course!)
2. I drew the outline of a half heart shape on the tips of my nails with the red nail polish. Â Then I filled in the heart with additional red (glitter nail polish would also be a nice touch!)
Note: If you can skip the outline, do it! I have a very shaky hand so I needed this guide. If you do have the outline, you may end up with a more clumpy coating because of the perimeter.
3. I painted over the finished design with a top coat to seal in the color. Easy right?

I’ve been actively trying to stay away from reds and golds this season, but it’s hard because ALL the nail tutorials are in that color. Haha. I’m settling for a pink. Thinks looks super cute.
Haha, don’t worry, you can always do a manicure in pink and red and it will be great too!
Great heart manicure DIY. I love the red hearts at the tip and the gold at the base.
Those nails are so adorable, hhmm, I may even try this, and I cannot usually do fancy manicures! xx Madison
