Do you wear a dress or does the dress define you? I think Balenciaga has a point above in that a dress can also elevate a person. It goes both ways – when someone wears something glamorous, she feels more glamorous. This feeling contributes to an overall confidence boost that shines through. I know that I feel completely chic and go the extra mile if I put on an evening gown. Once I slip it on, I feel like a more elegant version of myself. It’s fascinating to see these examples of this master couturier’s work. I’d love to see the Balenciaga fashion exhibition at the V&A museum; a collection of his photographs, sketches, and samples are on display until February 2018. After all, he designed the shift, baby doll, and tunic which were completely innovative when they were introduced. It will be interesting to see what dresses will continue to make us feel beautiful in the future.

I actually don’t wear dresses that much, but I do usually think to wear a dress if I’m trying to “doll myself up” so I can see how wearing one can boost confidence.
I say it goes both ways and I agree that I do feel glamorous whenever I wear a beautiful dress. I would love to get the opportunity to see this exhibition, I can imagine how breathtakingly beautiful it woud be.
