Recently, I’ve been thinking about backyards and patios a lot. Ā Summer makes me want to get outside and enjoy a cool summer night with a bowl of crisp watermelon and a good book. Ā I’ve seen a lot of pictures of cool backyard and patio lighting and they are so beautiful and welcoming. Ā When my friends first moved into their place, they invited us over for a housewarming dinner. Ā It was held in their back yard and we all had a ton of fun. Ā My friends had redone the year creating pockets of garden space and laying out tile for a small patio. Ā They strung simple string lights over the dining table outside and it was so intimate and lovely.
I’m not sure when we will be moving to a place with a backyard or patio, but I would love to have spots of lighting. Ā Then we’ll have a real summer party! In the meantime, I’m just pinning and saving some of my favorite examples of backyard and patio lighting.

I also love the look of hanging globe lights. Ā They are dramatic and chic.
You can also opt for a traditional look wrapping stringĀ lights around trees.

There is something so magical about a backyard strung with lights especially during the summer months. I gotta see if my friends in Park Slope are going to have a party in theirs this summer.

I wish I had a real backyard because I totally want to hang some lights and sit in an Adirondack chair.
Gosh, I wish we have a huge backyard and we could do it up beautifully like these pictures. Alas, we have a small space which is barely enough for a dog to run. š
