Who are some of your oldest friends? I saw this very cool editorial of Aube Jolicoeur for US Harper’s Bazaar September 2018 and loved the silver and black touches in these outfits. I’ve only worn silver a few times in my life – in high school and a few years ago. Speaking of high school, my friends from high school are my oldest friends that I still keep in touch with today. A few of them are still somehow my closest friends though we don’t get to talk that often (thank goodness for FaceTime and Google Hangouts though!) We bonded years and years ago over J. Crew velvet skirts and Friday nights at Pizzeria Uno. So it’s funny that our conversations revolve around busted roofs and worrying about whether we’re being “tiger moms” if we consider private school. While I’ve made some decent friends here, I find adulting and making adult friends to be kinda hard sometimes. Sure I have the mom friends, condo friends, and friends from a few former workplaces. But it isn’t always easy to find and make good friends.
But there is hope. I’ve gotten closer to a mom friend and had a connection with a friend of a friend. We may all be older and busier so of course it’s harder to find meaningful connections with people. So it’s nice when we can form new close friendships and keep in touch with our old friends as well.

Some of my closest friends are alos some of my oldest friends but I’ve been more open to new friendships lately and have made some wonderful connections through my blog that I’ try to see and meet up with on a regular basis.
Most of my friends are from middleschool or earlier. That’s just how it is. Most ‘new’ friends I’ve made don’t have the staying power of the friendships forged when I was young. I would very much love to make some new friends though.
