Who doesn’t like a party right?
It definitely becomes a more enticing party if it is one celebrating a Marc by Marc Jacobs store opening and the anniversary of a magazine, Vulture Magazine.
But the evening was actually much more about celebrating art, rather than viewing fashion (though of course I like seeing what other people are wearing at these functions!)
Sequins/pailettes always win!
I am partial to watercolor paintings – the softness and the ethereal aura are just so entrancing. Denise Jillian Tan drew this series and states “From postures to expressions to actions, the human body and face is able to emanate little hints of identity which may either entice or repulse which I find both to be something that is beautiful.”
This series of fine art fabricated by Sebastian Mary Tay shows beautiful landscapes and he finds himself a victim of “immensity of sublime elegance” of the majestic mountains, clouds, and vistas.
Robert Zhao Ren Hui created a really interesting set of prints by using unusual photographers – birds! He attached pinhole cameras to migratory birds and images were captured directly onto very light sensitive photographic paper. What a cool way to capture migratory patterns! Are these the different clouds seen by birds?
Finally, Zhang Jingna’s dramatic images depict beautiful, almost dreamlike scenes, like the dreams we had when we were children.
It was nice to catch up with a friend, learn about new artists, watch his latest runway show, and of course pick up a new tote (gotta love the city scene here).
Cutest camera ever right?
NYC love…how could I not love this tote bag?
Fab pics, love the art prints!
Ain’t no party like a Marc Jacobs party! Great pics and looks like a fun night xo
fabulous event!
Yes. I do agree – the water-colour paintings are lovely in their appeal.
Smitten with that hello kitty bag too! Beautiful paintings and of course looks like there was much to see in the fashion dept. too. xx
What an awesome event! So glad you got to go and had a great time! The people there were very CHIC! Those paintings were gorgeous. That Hello Kitty phone was very cute.
How cool! That tote bag is awesome!
I spend quite sometime playing with a pinhole camera, but I never thought to attach it to a bird! (but then, who would?) Those are some pretty intriguing images.
Wow looks kind of amazing.
This was an amazing party I bet! I’m a huge fan of watercolors, I find them so delicate and piercing at the same time! That camera is really cute!! Big hugs
