“There are two sides to being pregnant. There is the beautiful, wonderful blessing side. The second side – it sucks!”
– Tamar Braxton
Sometimes we put on our favorite outfits for no special occasion. Sometimes, we can’t be bothered and rock athleisure and oversized clothing without a care. I mostly fall into the former category. In recent years, I have really enjoyed putting together outfits and have a few special pieces. I wouldn’t mind being a little overdressed for casual functions. In addition, I would throw on a statement accessory or killer shoes like my Prada Fairy Tale pumps. But, I just forgot about all of that when I became a new mom. I lived in my husband’s t-shirts. I would barely dress up, unless we were seeing friends. Fashion certainly wasn’t first in my list of priorities then! But when I see Amanda Murphy for Elle France September 2016, I become inspired to dress up, even if I’m pregnant (or a new mom).
I love the choice of outfits in this editorial. Everything is skimming and not too fitted. But, they are full of beautiful textures and a few choice accessories. If you follow me on Instagram (let’s connect there!), you may have seen that I’m expecting once again! I’m going through a whirlwind of emotions. We are of course thrilled since it hasn’t been an easy journey expanding our family. But I’m also being careful since this pregnancy has had its ups and downs. When the newest little one finally arrives, I hope that I won’t completely fall into a fashion rut. Of course, it will be hectic around here. But, I hope that I can both maintain a sense of self and sense of style. Here’s to hoping I won’t be living in my husband’s shirts again!
Have a lovely week!
Congratulations on your pregnancy! That’s so exciting 🙂 Pregnancy style is hard as so much of your energy goes into growing another tiny human – be gentle with yourself and rock your hubbys shirts when you want to – while it would be nice to look this perfect and editorial-like all day, we don’t have the same team they do to pull it off, haha!
Hope your Monday is going well and you are having a really good start to the week!

Omiigosh what happy and exciting news! Congratulations to you and your family!
I am with you, I too don’t mind dressing up for a casual occassion. When I first arrived in the small town we currently live in, it was so odd for me. It’s a blue collar town so everyone is pretty much in sweats, no one wear high heels and for the first year, I tried blending in because I didn;t want to be the odd one out but it’s just not me. So today I’m back to what I like, I might be a little over dressed for this town but hey, it’s my style.
Shireen, rock your style no matter what! If we’re ever in the same place, we can be overdressed together 😉
Wow! this spread is perfect! amanda is so beautiful!
