Hope you had a great week lovelies and welcome to the new and improved blog!
Here is what happened at Chic ‘n Cheap Living the past few weeks:
– Photo Love {Inspiration}: Keeping the monsters at bay

– FFF/Fun Finds- Fred Flare Ballerina Clock
Here are other worthy reads from blogger buddies and beyond:
– I love peeking at the process behind a design. The Makers project has cool photo projects of professionals, like the designer behind the Reverie, here (photo above).
– I’ve done a lot in the last 5 years: got married, went to grad school, and lived in 3 different countries. I’m settled into my little corner in SE Asia here, but do find it hard to make good friends (they tend to be younger if they are childless like us). Here is a great article that talks about the difficulties of making friends after 30.
– I first went to Spain when I was 16 and would love to take a leisurely trip back (my last 3 day trip there didn’t count because I didn’t have paella like this)
– A ponytail was my exclusive hairstyle of choice for many years, but I wish I had known had to get great definition (shown here).

Hello dear,
I loved all of your latest posts, especially “keeping the monsters at bay”.
I agree with you that it’s difficult to make friends after 30 (be they parents or not), because it’s a stage in life when traits of one’s personality are strongly defined. It’s also hard to find someone who shares your same concept of friendship.
Personally I’ve come to skim my circle of friends based on their behaviour at the hardest time of my life, during my mom’s last months one year ago. I was deeply hurt by the utter absence of some of them, who now are no more part of my life.
Nevertheless, I strongly believe in friendship, be the friend here to chat over a cup of coffee, or miles away sharing her feelings in writing.
I wish you a great start of the week.
A big hug
