What are some of the unexpected things that have happened to you?
I thought that this quote from a chess master was really interesting. Ā Chess is a direct face-off between two sides as each player tries to create and enact a strategy. Ā But of course not everything goes as planned. Ā It becomes a delicate dance between the two sides as both individuals try to dominate and follow through with their own strategy. Ā But it is interesting to think that a change of plan can actually be a great thing. Ā It may not be the what was initially planned, but the unexpected may be wonderful as well.
My husband and I sometimes have differing opinions on what we may want to do and how we want to do it. Ā But we will compromise and end up choosing an activity that ends up being fun for everyone. Ā Yesterday was a crazy day in which we both played tug-of-war on how we wanted to end the weekend. Ā Although I was exhausted and just wanted to get everyone home, we ended up having a lovely and very messy family dinner at Din Tai Fung (soup dumplings always work!)
So it’s ok if plans change, go with it and create something beautiful.

Since having kids, I feel like plans change constantly. I think I am less uptight than I used to be which is probably better for all.
