What is it about stripes that make a shirt/dress instantly chic?I took one look at Joseph Altuzarra’s capsule collection for J Crew and was instantly smitten. His take on a French twist for J. Crew is right on. This is definitely a nice Luxing it on the Cheap (LOTC) addition to J. Crew’s lineup (well I guess any CFDA winner’s collection at a lower price point is LOTC!) I’d save my pennies for the striped Patricia dress and denim Manon pencil skirt. I love the slightly refined take on such casual wardrobe staples! The Serge sweater with its deliberate holes is odd to me – I shouldn’t be paying for a sweater with holes! But the rest of the collection has a simple and classic aesthetic. I may even consider getting a few pieces now (that is saying a lot because I hate paying retail price!)

The Patricia and Sabina dresses are great! I love the Odette blouse as well, and agree that the hole-y sweater can stay in the store! I may need to buy that Sabina dress – it’s too cute!
I am obsessed with white/navy stripes! Especially for t-shirts and sweaters. I think they create the most ‘chic’ casual look! As for the dress, it’s definitely very cute, but I am not sure it’s for me. xoxo
