“We don’t create a fantasy world to escape reality. We create it to be able to stay. ”
Lynda Barry
What is a part of your perfect fantasy world? I saw this striking editorial of Roos Abels by Txema Yeste for Numero December 2016 and thought about the concept of fantasy and reality. His surreal style reminds me a bit of Tim Walker. He has captured Roos in a series of otherworldly shots. I almost feel like I am transported to another place, a fantasy world. When I think about a fantasy world, I think about a place the encompasses everything and everyone that I love.
Time would have no hold on this world. Beautiful colors and scenes would be abundant. I could seamlessly travel from one place to another instantly. I would experience this in the company of my loved ones from all time periods. Of course, this fantasy would be difficult to create in reality. But, I am still able to fulfill parts of the fantasy. I am able to peruse beautiful photographs online and in print. I am also lucky enough to be able to travel a bit, or at least see and read enough to know where I’d want to travel next. Every trip is a small fulfillment of that fantasy. I’ll be heading to San Francisco again soon and vow to explore a few different and beautiful parts of town. I’ll happily eat my fill of wonderful Mexican foods as well. Who says we can’t live in a fantasy world right?
Have a lovely week!
these are fantastic…brilliant images to start the day!! I hope you have a great monday x
Time would definitely not be hard and fast in my fantasy world either and I’d be able to go wherever I wanted with just the snap of a finger. Oh if only…
I am in dress heaven and I love the pops of orange!
The last two are my favorites! I stay in a magical frame of mind.
