Chanel Spring/Summer 2019 Ready-To-Wear Details

I’m a sucker for the details.  It can be a background detail like lapping waves and soft grains of sand underfoot. Or it can be the unexpected appearance of lace from the bottom of a tweed jacket. All of these touches made an appearance in the Chanel Spring/Summer 2019 Ready-To-Wear details. It reminded me a lush, elegant version of the ’80s.  Logos are big, shoulders are bigger, and jewelry is chunky. It certainly fits in with the “maximalist” vibe going on.  Why make a statement with just one part of your outfit when practically everything you’re wearing is making a statement right?  There are always a few jackets that really catch my eye and the oversized pink blazer, polka dot suit, and gold detail short sleeved suit are wondrous.  This ain’t your mama’s tweed jacket.  Here are my favorite details from the show:

Otherwise, this weekend I am…

…throwing a baby shower for a good friend.  She and her husband were told the baby would likely come early so it’s a crazy, last minute affair.  But she’s now involved because her lovely husband may have become a little overwhelmed. It’s always fun to celebrate little ones while munching on macarons…so I guess the sugar hiatus will wait a little longer! After this weekend, I’m saying no to refined sugar for a while!  #gottadetoxsometimes
