Bali is one of my favorite places to visit. Yes, it can be overhyped, but yes there are still great areas to explore and enjoy. It has something for everyone from volcano spotting for the adventurers to water temples for the cultural explorers. It is also one of my favorite places to visit with my family and there are so many things to do in Bali with Kids. We’ve covered natural sites to zoos and I wanted to share 7 things to do in Bali with kids.

1.Explore waterfalls
I never knew that Bali has just beautiful waterfalls. They are one of my favorite activities to take part in while visiting Bali. Tukad Cepung is a famous waterfall that is partially set inside the cave allowing the loveliest light. My favorite though is Nungnung waterfall for it’s dramatic scale and lack of other tourists.

2. Visit the animals at Bali Zoo
You step into Bali Zoo and are immediately greeted by small kangaroos and deer. The zoo isn’t too big which makes it manageable. They also have supervised feedings with animals like lemurs (bummed we were a little late for this) and different animal encounter shows.

3. Go snorkeling and see Nusa Penida
Nusa Penida is one of the best closer spots in Bali for snorkeling. Take a ferry from Bali to Nusa Penida and go snorkeling from there. We saw schools of rays and tons of fish around Diamond Beach. End with a stroll atop (or even down to) “Dragon Peak” at Kelingkeling beach. We found it very useful to book a whole day tour in order to have a car take us from point to point.

4. Swing over jungle at Aloha Ubud Swing
Who doesn’t like swings right? The famous Bali swings are usually locations with a variety of swings set atop rice paddy fields. The views are gorgeous and you can even rent super long dresses to wear as you sit atop the swings. Be careful because there may be one very high swing (which is mildly terrifying at first) and they do not allow children on this particular swing.

5. Enjoy the Sunset show at Uluwatu Temple
Uluwatu Temple is at the Southernmost tip of Bali with lovely views of the sea. The sunset here is as stereotypically beautiful as you can imagine. But what I found really cool was watching the Kecak dance here with dramatic costumes and cool fire effects. We made the mistake of getting there right before the show (traffic there is no joke) so we only had standing room seats. But my eldest still thought it was an entertaining show.

6. Spot sculptures at Sari Timbul Art Gallery
Ubud is definitely the hipster capital of Bali. But the benefits of any hipster center are good food and art. The Sari Timbul Art Gallery is full of interesting Balinese sculptures and IG worthy spots. But kids may also enjoy the koi pond as well (attested to by my kids).

7. Relax at Pura Tirta Empul
This Hindu Balinese temple is known for its holy water. People, regardless of religion, like to dip themselves to purify themselves in these waters. The architecture and water aspect was more interesting for the kids. Just note that even little kids will need to cover their shoulders and knees (sarongs are provided on site).
