What would it be like to be Willy Wonka? Make, taste, and dream candy? Every child’s dream right?
I went to a talk by Chantal Coady of Rococo Chocolates at Chocolate Unwrapped at the Mayfair Hotel and she said she was never able to let go of her childhood love for chocolates (26 years later, she is opening her third shop and childhood loves are also sound business decisions). Chocolate making as a profession – freaking brilliant! Chantal’s talk about the chocolate making process was only one of the highlights of Chocolate Unwrapped.
The other highlights of course were all related to chocolate viewing, chocolate art, and of course chocolate TASTING (woo).
Chocolate beginnings
Chocolate art
Chocolate animals
Chocolate kits – be your own chocolatier
Chocolate fashion
I love the frills on the dress – totally over the top, like a great prom dress (though a melty one by the end of the night)
Chocolate tastings!!!
Our favorites
Mr. Chic ‘n Cheap is an avid Yelp reviewer. He reviews everything: the church we got married in, my favorite pizza place, and random pubs/clubs we’ve visited. He was made an elite reviewer and invited to several events in the UK including this chocolate show for free. It was fun – we even got press badges! So the more you review, the more you share your opinions on your favorite/least favorite places and you could also be invited to chocolate shows, musicals (we just got some tickets), and more!
In short, cool show and great opportunity to meet chocolatiers and taste exotic and interesting chocolates (and brownies too). But bring water because your sweet taste buds go into overload. Mmm chocolate.
yum, chocolate overload. love it!

Totally dieting so I can wear a super fly bridesmaid dress…So you can imagine how much I’m drooling right about now!
