Photo Love {Inspiration}: Beautiful Backgrounds and Being a Wonderful Wallflower

January 30, 2012
Blend in Beautifully.
There are definitely times I want to stand out and be noticed – “Look at me, I rock!” and there are other times when I prefer to take a social back seat and simply sit back and observe. Ā Maybe I prefer to be a wallflower during these ocassions.
When I saw these pictures by Cecilia Parades of people that actually blended into these walls with flowers, I was struck by how seamlessly they merge with the background. Ā But then I started to think that blending in can be a very good thing. Ā If I find a beautiful backdrop and can be a part of it (an environment, a culture, a place), doesn’t that mean that I fit very well with that setting? Ā I can be an integral part of that setting, but then step away from the way and be myself. Ā Perhaps the most important thing is finding that beautiful place where you can blend in and fit just right.
Have a lovely week!

  • Johanna January 31, 2012 at 00:05

Blending into the background is definitely not a bad thing – I think there’s a time and a place ya know?

  • LyddieGal January 31, 2012 at 00:13

a whole new meaning to being a wallflower, i suppose.

Usually I’m somewhere in between. I want to be noticed, but I’d probably prefer to just be in the background.

To blend and fit just right is a hard thing to find, but when you do it is wonderful. I am searching for that in Seattle – our new hometown! Beautifully written post and the pics are divine.
