Paris is undeniably one of my favorite walking cities in the world.
A walking tour of the streets is a wonderful and free way to really get to know a city.
There is an intimate sense of history, culture, and grandeur in even the most unexpected places. Look up and you may see not just the Eiffel Tower looming large, but also the famed glass pyramids of the Louvre. Even if you’re not in an older, centrally located neighborhood, you will still find beautifully carved shuttered windows, intricate street signs, and well worn cobblestones. I hope to explore a few more neighborhoods and take pictures on the Champs Élysées in September so I will share more favorite pictures from the streets then!
If you follow me on Instagram (I’m here, let me see your pictures too!), you saw me post a few favorite pictures already.
The Eiffel Tower of course needs no introduction. This is the view from the top of the Pompidou museum.
But of course, the Louvre and its courtyard are also quintessentially Paris.
I love the Seine. This bridge, the Pont des Arts, is where I got engaged! I guess other couples love this bridge too!
But back at the Pompidou, the museum and the immediate area around it reflect the funky vibe.
All around, you will see beautiful architecture and unexpected art.
If it is the weekend, you may be lucky and run into a market too!
What kind of street views do you like to see on your travels?
