Hengki Koentjoro black and white monochromatic photography
What type of photography captures your attention? I was immediately struck by Hengki Koentjoro‘s black and white monochromatic photography. He captures his subjects in shade of black, white and gray. He beautifully balances shadows and light to highlight his subject in their natural surroundings. There is very little to distract from the main focus of the photo. It’s simple and stunning. Here are a few favorite pieces:
Otherwise, this weekend I am…
…continuing to move into our new place and do some cleaning. We’ve had a rash of small issues pop up from cracks coming through the paint to leaky bathrooms so it’s been stressful. I’m at least trying to do things a bit at a time so we won’t be completely overwhelmed moving day next week. The baby’s room is almost unpacked so at least that’s something! Now how will I keep my little on occupied while I clean up some more this weekend…
What are you up to this weekend?
Have a lovely weekend!
I have long been a fan of B&W photography, there’s something very classic and mysterious about it. We are in the midst of cleaning and packing too as photographer is coming today to take pictures of our home so we could list it to sell. The next few months will be a lot of donating stuff away because we’ll be moving to our new home end of June.
Ooh I didn’t know you were moving too! How exciting and crazy!
These are absolutely stunning! I first learned photography with black and white film so monochromatic images will always capture my attention.
These have such an eerie, Tim Burton Miss Peregrine’s feel to them – I kind of love it!
Good luck with your cleaning! My family is getting new carpeting in the next couple of weeks, so all we do is clean, pack stuff up, and move furniture lately {or so it seems}. Such a pain! Totally buying myself something fabulous once it’s all said and done! 😛
xx
Those pictures are gorgeous!
These photos are absolutely gorgeous! Such depth!
Hang in there! Problems always seem to pop up. Take them one at a time. Everything will be ok 😀

Those are stunning, yet haunting images. I see why you are drawn to them as well.
